Materials for energy harvesting and storage

We innovate and develop materials for batteries including metallic lithium coatings, materials for hydrogen production and storage, as well as thermoelectric devices and solar photovoltaics. These materials are transformed into prototypes for new lithium and sodium ion batteries, new materials and innovative technologies for hydrogen energetics.

Our knowledge about different batteries allows us to work with various materials to develop innovative solutions. We have broad experience in lithium and sodium ion batteries, work on lithium metal batteries, develop innovative electrode materials (for example, graphene thin films).

By working with us you will have the opportunity to access the most innovative coating technologies, ranging from our multipurpose thin film development cluster tool, to scaling technologies up to industrial scale with our partner Sidrabe, a well-known supplier of vacuum coating systems and processes.

Organic semiconductor materials for energy harvesting

Materize is a highly competent player in organic semiconductor materials. We carry out original material research, as well as creating prototypes and devices. This ranges from thermoelectrical devices for energy harvesting, OLEDs and organic photovoltaics. Our services cover the whole lifecycle starting with new material development and characterisation to development of devices with the required properties.

Materials and solutions for hydrogen energetics

We work with materials and solutions for hydrogen energetics for various applications including transport and energy cogeneration. We have experience in the production of hydrogen by electrolysis, photo-electrolysis and dark fermentation of biomass. We develop new materials for reversible hydrogen storage based on metal hydride and porous inorganic composite carrier materials.
